    Better care coordination may improve access to primary care for people who are dually eligible for Medicare and Medicaid. Recent evaluations of the Financial Alignment Initiative -an initiative incentivizing the financial alignment of Medicare and Medicaid-suggests care coordination could improve access to primary care services for some dually eligible beneficiaries. Care coordination alone, however, may not be sufficient for improving access to primary care for more medically complex patients.
